Wearing of the Effigy
Wearing of the Effigy is obligatory to gain access to the festival site, for visitors 8 years of age and over.
What is the Effigy?
The Carnaval Effigy* is your passport to enjoy 17 days of festivities at the main festival site brimming with activities, sporting competitions, breathtaking entertainment and many other privileges.
*Effigy: Primary source of financing for the Carnaval, the Effigy is a miniature, plastic Bonhomme Carnaval that you pin to your outerwear.
Cost of the Effigy
The price for the Effigy is not determinate. In 2013, the cost was $15.
Sale of the Effigy
At the beginning of January. Purchase the Effigy at Uniprix and Couche-Tard stores in the Quebec region, online at our Website, in the Boutique section, and directly at the festival site entrance during the festivities. The Effigy will be also available in about 50 SAQ stores in and around Quebec City.
