• What awaits me at the Odyss experience, and how long does it last?

Odyss Land of Ice is a participatory multimedia experience at Bonhomme’s Ice Palace and in its surroundings. The activity lasts about 15 minutes.

  • Is the Odyss experience open to people of all ages?

Odyss is ideal for the young and not-so-young alike! This experience is designed to accommodate a wide audience of people age two and upwards. However, please note that the use of strollers, walkers and mobility carts is not recommended for the full experience.

  • Can a buy a ticket for Odyss without purchasing a Carnival Effigy?

The only way to acquire a ticket for Odyss is to purchase an Effigy, which is sold for $10 to $15 at carnaval.qc.ca, on the sites of the event, in participating Couche-Tard locations and at various other points of sale. (https://carnaval.qc.ca/carnaval/effigy) Places for Odyss are limited and buying the Effigy does not guarantee access to this experience. Therefore, we strongly encourage you to schedule your participation early.

  • How long before the moment I booked must I arrive at the Loto-Québec Zone?

You must be on site and ready for the experience 5 minutes before the moment you’ve booked.

  • What can I do if no availability remains for the moment I wished to book?

Each day Odyss takes place, additional places for that day are made available when the Loto-Québec Zone opens to the public. These extra places can only be booked on the same day, either online or on one of the terminals located at the Loto-Québec Zone. This gives people who could not book a place for Odyss beforehand a chance to participate.

  • Can I book directly on site?

To book early, you must do so online. However, each day Odyss takes place, additional places for that day are made available when the Loto-Québec Zone opens to the public. These extra places can only be booked on the same day, either online or on one of the terminals located at the Loto-Québec Zone. Please note that as places for Odyss are limited, your odds to book successfully are increased should you do so in advance.

  • Can I show a picture of the barcode on my ticket to enter the Odyss site?

No. You must present the original ticket, which was included with your Effigy purchase, or its official replacement (see below). Keep your ticket in a safe place. The Carnival is not responsible for lost, stolen or destroyed tickets.

  • I’ve booked a place, but I’ve lost my ticket since. What can I do?

Two days prior to your reservation, you’ll receive an email reminder at the address you specified. This email will include the steps to follow to print a replacement ticket in case you’ve lost yours.

  • Will the activity take place even in case of rain, hail or other bad weather?

Odyss takes place as usual regardless of weather, except in case of extreme weather or major problems. Should the activity be canceled, you will be sent an email outlining the steps to follow. To stay on top of the news, check out our Facebook page.

  • What can I do if the Odyss presentation I had booked is canceled?

Should a situation beyond our control arise and force us to cancel an Odyss event, we will warn you by email on the same day. This email will explain how to reschedule your visit. All responsibility for rescheduling a visit in case of cancellation lies with the user, not the Quebec Winter Carnival or its partners. The Carnival cannot guarantee that rescheduling will be always possible in case of cancellation.

  • Must my child have his or her own ticket?

Children aged 7 or younger can participate free of charge if accompanied by an adult who is authorized to take part to Odyss. Children aged 8 or older must show their own ticket and Effigy. Those responsible for organized groups of children (day-care centers, field trips) must contact the Carnival team beforehand.

  • Can I enter Odyss more than once?

No. Your ticket is valid for a single entry only. To experience Odyss again, you must purchase another Effigy on the Carnival’s website, at our physical sites, in participating Couche-Tard locations or at various other points of sale (https://carnaval.qc.ca/carnaval/effigy).

  • Are strollers, walkers and mobility carts allowed inside the Odyss experience?

Yes, strollers, walkers and mobility carts are allowed at all times inside Bonhomme’s Ice Palace, including for Odyss. However, please note their use is not recommended for the full experience.

  • Are animals allowed on site?

Animals are never allowed inside Bonhomme’s Ice Palace, but are allowed on the outdoors areas of the Loto-Québec Zone so long as they are kept on a leash and are closely monitored. Therefore, you can have a third party keep an eye on your animal outside during your Odyss experience. However, do note the Carnival does not offer this service.

  • Is alcohol authorized on site?

No alcoholic drink is allowed while waiting in line for Odyss or inside the experience. However, you may purchase alcoholic drinks at the points of sale at the Loto-Québec Zone and enjoy them on the rest of the site.

  • Can I visit the Ice Palace without taking part in the Odyss experience?

Of course! The Ice Palace remains open to visitors every day until 4 p.m. During the weekends, talented muralists produce artwork live until sundown inside the Palace.

  • Can I change the time of my reservation?

You may reschedule your reservation up to 24 hours before the set date and time. Simply book again at a different time using the code which appears on your ticket. Your former reservation will then be canceled automatically. If there’s less than 24 hours to go before your scheduled reservation, you may no longer reschedule.
